There's a good portion of that swill in Creepy (especially those lean early 1970s and the fall from quality that hit all the warrens in the last few years they were around) but for my money, the best Warren was Creepy.Peter Enfantinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04317575598411394944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6672923492889685727.post-65612661684195840622010-11-10T09:52:26.289-08:002010-11-10T09:52:26.289-08:00Fair enough, as long as Uncle EERIE has a note on ...Fair enough, as long as Uncle EERIE has a note on him warning the uninformed that it's best to purchase his series chronologically. At least after the first issues.

Funny, a couple months ago I bought the first hard cover collection of Creepy and showed it to my brother. He asked what the difference was between the two magazines, and I was unsure except to tell him that EERIE just wasn't as good.

After reading your other article on the blog I remember why as a kid I felt burned buying some random issues that plunged me into the middle of some bizarre supernatural storyline. I gave up after a few purchases and saved my money for Marvel Two-In-One back issues. Reading your article kind of makes me wonder if I'd like to follow EERIE as a whole series.Ultimate Tactical Warriornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6672923492889685727.post-37446306292428482062010-11-10T05:36:53.187-08:002010-11-10T05:36:53.187-08:00Ultimate-

Unfortunately the horror titles gave me nightmares and one night I fell asleep with my stack of EC's safely tucked away in their box by my bed, and the next morning they were gone forever. That enemy of all rare comic books, The Mother, had thrown them away.

Fortunately I now have the EC Library plus the color reprint set and can follow along with Peter's commentary.Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6672923492889685727.post-83293443842621593072010-11-09T21:15:26.002-08:002010-11-09T21:15:26.002-08:00You make the series sound pretty good Pete, but I ...You make the series sound pretty good Pete, but I think I'll stick with "Monsters Unleased," and "Where Monsters Dwell."

On a side note, I always wondered what it would have been like if the Twilight Zone had made an episode featuring the tyrant "Tim Boo Ba" and his watery demise.Ultimate Tactical Warriornoreply@blogger.com
