I remember seeing him in something where he played a thug-like character and being surprised at how convincing he was. I actually just saw this one for the first time a few months ago. I enjoyed it a lot. I thought the futuristic setting gave it a cool atmosphere even if it was done just to make it unrelated to a 1960's audience. The weird sets are a refreshing change for the show. Welles's dialogue is pretty great here especially in the family scenes. His kids are awful.
